  • Lights the road directly in front of you
  • Should be used in tandem with headlights to cut through fog
  • Replace when not working as it should

Nissan fog lights help you steer through complicated weather patterns by lighting the way in front of you. When either one of them dies or malfunctions, it can detract from your ability to see the road ahead.

In contrast to headlights, fog lights are specially engineered to “cut through” rather than reflect visibility-lowering conditions like smog, rain, and snow. Because of their thoughtful design, Nissan fog lights offer a wider but shorter projection range than headlights, which is why they are best used as a supplement rather than a replacement to headlights.

Your Fog Lights can act up due to underlying problems in the electrical system — which can make the lights flicker, become dimmer than normal, or not turn on at all. In contrast, your Fog Lights light bulbs can “die” with age or become damaged due to impact or a short circuit.

Typically, fog lights last around 30,000 hours before needing to be replaced.

But, if you overuse yours or have an underlying electrical problem, you may need to replace your fog lights more often. If your Fog Lights are flickering, or burnt — order genuine Nissan Fog Lights for the ultimate fit and performance.

Replacing Fog Lights at home is on the easier side of DIY car repair. Generally, the process involves popping the hood and undoing the electrical connections between the fog light and the rest of the system. Once undone, remove your old Fog Lights by unscrewing them counterclockwise. Next, turn your new Nissan Fog Lights clockwise into the fog light assembly, and restore all the electrical connections to their original ballast. Tighten the new Fog Lights back into the fog light assembly.

While it seems straightforward, remember to check your owner's manual, turn the car off, and let the motor cool down before performing any DIY car services. Updating your Fog Lights is supposed to preserve your visibility behind the wheel, but make sure you play it safe in the driveway, first!
